Get Baptized

On the first weekend of the month, we come together for a transformative occasion: baptisms. Baptism is a pivotal milestone in an individual’s faith journey, and is often a catalyst for personal growth. On baptism days, we’re humbled and reminded that no one’s perfect, and that God’s boundless grace and love are offered to each and every person, without exception.

If you're ready to take this next step in your faith journey, we're here to guide you through the process and celebrate with you.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a powerful way to show the world that you have decided to follow Jesus and live a new life in him. When baptized, you are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with his resurrection. It is a symbol of your faith and obedience to your Savior.

"Before I accepted God’s grace, I was confused and lost. I knew there was something higher power, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I came to a place where my grandma was really sick, I started to pray, I didn’t know who I was praying to but I just prayed. Once she was healed, she told me it was Jesus. Jesus saved her and that’s when I invested my whole life into Jesus. I would like to be baptized because I am ready to take that next step and give myself to Jesus entirely."

Why Is Baptism Important for Christians?

Baptism is important because it is a biblical command and a public expression of your personal faith in Jesus Christ. When you are baptized, you are following Jesus' example and obeying His instruction to believers.

The Bible describes baptism as a symbol of being buried with Christ and raised to new life. As Romans 6:3-4 (NLT) says: "Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."

Baptism doesn't save you, only faith in Jesus does, but it is an outward sign of the inward change that has already happened in your heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the service?

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes your identification with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, and represents the washing away of your old life and the beginning of your new life in Christ.

Do I need to be baptized to be saved?

No, baptism does not save you. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Baptism is an act of obedience that follows your decision to trust Jesus as your Savior.

What if I was baptized as a baby?

At CedarCreek Church, we practice believer's baptism, which means baptism is for those who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus. If you were baptized as an infant before making your own faith decision, we encourage you to be baptized now as a believer.
